Chronicling the Last Day Events and the Abomination of Desolation
Chronicling the Last Day Events and the Abomination of Desolation.
This article will document the order of end-time events including major disasters, Sunday Laws, probation, the time of trouble, the impersonation of Christ by Satan and the death decree. These things are to start with major disasters. The order of events will be documented not just by the Bible but also we will see how the Spirit of Prophecy was in exact and perfect alignment with the Bible.
I’ve recently had many discussions about these issues and it seems our people are all over the map. I’ve seen charts on these events and many of them seem to be contradictory to the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. Some of the points in this article are critical to understand.
“Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature…He will favor and prosper some in order to further his own designs, and he will bring trouble upon others and lead men to believe that it is God who is afflicting them.
While appearing to the children of men as a great physician who can heal all their maladies, he will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great CONFLAGRATIONS, in fierce TORNADOES and terrific HAILSTORMS, in TEMPESTS, FLOODS, CYCLONES, TIDAL WAVES, and EARTHQUAKES, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become MORE AND MORE FREQUENT AND DISASTEROUS.” (GC 589-590)
The earth is cursed and the curse is because of sin. The more we are looking around at this time, the more we see that these events are definitely becoming “MORE AND MORE FREQUENT AND DISASTEROUS”. The current oil spill in the gulf is alarming as it has a deadly taint in the air that is currently making the workers sick. So this calamity by sea could become much more deadly. There is the possibility as well that the hurricane season could sweep across there and pick up the oil and push it onto land causing devastation to human life, animal life and vegetation. This then would lead to a collapse of the economy. It is said that the army, including the United Nations, is being prepared for such an event. There is also evidence of mass graves prepared by the CDC (Center for Disease Control). See video here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FnZLx8J4oM
The armies will be gathering around the cities and we will see further on how this perfectly fits prophecy.
“Destruction will be upon both man and beast. “The earth mourneth and fadeth away,”
And then the great deceiver will persuade men that those who serve God are causing these evils. The class that have provoked the displeasure of Heaven will charge all their troubles upon those whose obedience to God’s commandments is a perpetual reproof to transgressors. It will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the Sunday sabbath; that this sin has brought calamities which will not cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced;”(GC 590)
Continual transgression of the law brings more and more disasters. The people will cry to the government to fix things and men within the government will continue to try to take the role of savior and policeman of the world until they realize things are out of control. Then as a last resort, they will see that they are breaking God’ s law and in an attempt to make it right, they will begin to enforce Sunday Observance.
What are God’s people to do when Sunday laws are enforced?
“Dear Brother: I will try to answer your question as to what you should do in the case of SUNDAY LAWS being enforced. The light given me by the Lord at a time when we were expecting just such a crisis as you seem to be approaching, was that when the people were moved by a power from beneath to enforce Sunday observance, Seventh-day Adventists were to show their wisdom by REFRAINING FROM THEIR ORDINARY WORK on that day, devoting it to missionary effort.” 9T 232
“One does NOT receive the MARK OF THE BEAST because he shows that he realizes the wisdom of keeping the peace by REFRAINING FROM WORK that gives offense, doing at the same time a work of the highest importance.” 9T 232
When Sunday observance is enforced some will defy the law makers. This is not God’s principle to be defiant.
“…some who are impulsive will take the opportunity to defy the Sunday laws, and by a presumptuous defiance of their oppressors they will bring to themselves much sorrow…“You NEED NOT cut short your work by yourself LABORING ON SUNDAY. It would be better to take that day to instruct others in regard to the love of Jesus and true conversion.”SPM, p20-21
What are we to do when the Sabbath Laws are passed?
“…the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the DECREE enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to LEAVE THE LARGE CITIES, PREPARATORY to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains.” 4T 464-465
There will be many martyrs in this time.
“The two armies will stand distinct and separate, and this distinction will be so marked that many who shall be convinced of truth will come on the side of God’s commandment-keeping people. When this grand work is to take place in the battle, prior to the last closing conflict, many will be imprisoned, many will flee for their lives from cities and towns, and many will be martyrs for Christ’s sake in standing in defense of the truth.”{Mar 199.2}
“Men will be required to render obedience to human edicts in violation of the divine law. Those who are true to God will be menaced, denounced, proscribed. They will be “betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinfolks, and friends,” even unto death.—“(PK 588)
“The scenes of the BETRAYAL, the rejection, and the crucifixion of Christ have been re-enacted, and WILL AGAIN be re-enacted on an IMMENSE scale.” (RH Jan 30 1900)
“In the last great conflict of the controversy with Satan those who are loyal to God will see every earthly support cut off. Because they refuse to break His law in obedience to earthly powers, they will be FORBIDDEN TO BUY OR SELL. It will FINALLY be decreed that they shall be put to DEATH. See Rev. 13:11-17.” DA 122-3
The escalation of the Sunday laws…
“… religious and secular authorities have combined to ENFORCE THE OBSERVANCE OF SUNDAY, the persistent refusal of a small minority to yield to the popular demand will make them objects of universal execration…[John 11:50]. This argument will appear conclusive; and a DECREE will FINALLY be issued against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment and give the people liberty, after a certain time, to put them to DEATH.”
GC 615-616
Probation Closed When?
“PROBATION is ended a short time BEFORE the appearing of the Lord in the clouds of heaven [Rev 22:11 quoted]…men will be planting and building, eating and drinking, all unconscious that the final, irrevocable decision has been pronounced in the sanctuary above.”(GC p490-491)
“I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds UNTIL JESUS” WORK WAS DONE IN THE SANCTUARY, and THEN will come the SEVEN LAST PLAGUES.”
(EW 36-37)
“Then I saw that after Jesus leaves the sanctuary the plagues will be poured out.” (12MR 248)
What do the plagues do?
“I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds until Jesus’ work was DONE in the sanctuary, andTHEN will come the SEVEN LAST PLAGUES. These plagues enraged the wicked against the righteous; they thought that we had brought the judgments of God upon them, and that if they could rid the earth of us, the plagues would then be stayed. A DECREE went forth to SLAY THE SAINTS, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance.” (Early Writings 36-37)
So following the plagues we see the Death Decree. So the order of events so far is:
- Disasters, Disease, Pestilence
- Sunday Laws
- Martyrs
- Probation Closes/Jesus leaves the sanctuary/Time of Trouble
- Seven Last Plagues
- Death Decree
- Saints Cry day and night
“When Jesus LEAVES THE MOST HOLY, His restraining Spirit is withdrawn from rulers and people. They are left to the control of evil angels.THEN such LAWS will be made by the counsel and direction of Satan, that unless time should be very short, NO FLESH COULD BE SAVED.”(Testimonies Vol. One, p204)
Notice that the Death Decree is not passed until Jesus leaves the Most Holy Place. This is important. Many believe that after the Death Decree there is more time left to turn to God. In watching the movie “Last Day Events” by Doug Batchelor he teaches that the personation of Christ by Satan takes place and that Satan makes the death decree and then millions turn to Christ. But what we’ve read so far has shown that the death decree is after the close of probation. So therefore there will be no repentance in this time.
Jesus is no longer ministering in the sanctuary and therefore mercy no longer pleads with erring man.
“Those who delay a preparation for the day of God cannot obtain it in the time of trouble or at any subsequent time. The case of all such is hopeless. Those professed Christians who come up to that last fearful conflict unprepared, will, in their despair, confess their sins in words of burning anguish, while the wicked exult over their distress.” {4SP 437.3}
Satan personates Christ in the time of trouble as his last great deception, and passes the death decree.
“Satan sees that he is about to LOSE HIS CASE. He cannot sweep in the whole world. He makes ONE LAST DESPERATE EFFORT to overcome the faithful by deception. He does this in personating Christ… One effort more, and then Satan’s last device is employed. He hears the UNCEASING CRY FOR CHRIST TO COME, FOR CHRIST TO DELIVER THEM. This last strategy is to PERSONATE CHRIST, and make them think their prayers are answered.” LDE 164-165
So here we have Satan trying to impersonate Christ and hear the saints’ “unceasing cry”. So let’s view another order of events here for the “impersonation of Christ ”.
- Probation closes
- Plagues enrage wicked (EW 36-37)
- A DECREE went forth to SLAY THE SAINTS, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance.” (Early Writings 36-37)
- Satan hears the unceasing cry(LDE 164-165)
- Satan impersonates Christ to try and make the saints think their prayers are answered(164-165)
At what time period does the “personation of Christ” take place?
“The wrath of Satan increases as his time grows short, and his work of deceit and destruction will reach its culmination IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE…As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will impersonate Christ.” GC 623-624
The personating of Christ takes place in “the time of trouble”. The plagues are falling after probation is closed. There is no time left for repentance.
If Satan personates Christ before the Sunday law is enacted, then how does one explain what the SOP says about this great deception occurring in the “time of trouble”?
What will be the danger in believing the death decree and personation of Christ take place before probation is closed?
The multitudes who are deceived by this will think there is still a period to turn back to God, they will think that a reformation can take place and they will not know that the saints have already been sealed.
“When the third message closes, mercy no longer pleads for the guilty inhabitants of the earth. The people of God have accomplished their work; they have received the latter rain, or the refreshing from the presence of the Lord, and they are prepared for the trying hour before them. Angels are hurrying to and fro in Heaven. An angel returning from the earth announces that his work is done, that the seal of God [SEE APPENDIX, NOTE 9.] has been placed upon his people. Then Jesus ceases his intercession in the sanctuary above. He lifts his hands, and with a loud voice says, “It is done;” and all the angelic host lay off their crowns as he makes the solemn announcement: “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” [REV. 22:11] Every case has been decided for life or death. Christ has made the atonement for his people, and blotted out their sins. The number of his subjects is made up; “the kingdom and dominion and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven,” is about to be given to the heirs of salvation, and Jesus is to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.” {4SP 431.2}
So before Jesus leaves the sanctuary or receives his crown and Kingly robes as King of kings, the saints are sealed and the wicked are marked with the mark of the beast. How do the Sunday laws progress?
“…better for them to suffer than for whole nations to be thrown into confusion and lawlessness. This argument will appear conclusive; and against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment will finally be issued a DECREE denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment, and giving the people liberty, AFTER A CERTAIN TIME, to put them to DEATH.” (The Signs of the Times, 22 Feb. 1910)
Is there a difference between Jacob’s trouble and the time of trouble or are both one and the same?
“About four months since I had a vision of events all in the future. I saw the TIME OF TROUBLE, SUCH AS NEVER WAS. Jesus told me it was the TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE, and that we should be delivered out of it by the voice of God.”
(Broadside1, 6 April 1846)
The time of trouble such as never was is the time of Jacobs trouble to come. They are one and the same.
No Martyrs in the time of Jacobs trouble for “we should be delivered out of it by the voice of God.”
“Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great so that none is like it: it is even the TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE; but HE SHALL BE SAVED out of it.” [Jer 30:7] Daniel, in prophetic vision looking down to this point, says: “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time; and at that time thy people shall be DELIVERED, EVERY ONE that shall be found written in the book. [Dan 12:1]” (ST 27 Nov. 1879)
The time of trouble is just around the corner. The loud cry is swelling at this very moment. What will the saints of God do at the time of trouble?
“IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE WE ALL FLED from the cities and villages, but were pursued by the wicked, who entered the houses of the saints with a sword. They raised the sword to kill us, but it broke, and fell as powerless as a straw. Then we all cried day and night for deliverance, and the cry came up before God.” (EW 34)
“As the DECREE issued by the various rulers of Christendom against commandment keepers shall withdraw the protection of government and abandon them to those who desire their destruction, the people of God will FLEE from the cities and villages and associate together in companies, dwelling in the most desolate and solitary places. Many will find refuge in the strongholds of the MOUNTAINS.” GC 626
When did Jesus say we are to flee into the mountains?
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the END COME. When ye therefore shall SEE THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea FLEE INTO THE MOUNTAINS:” Matthew 24:14-16
God protects his people in the time of trouble.
“Though a general DECREE has fixed the time when commandment keepers may be put to DEATH, their enemies will in some cases anticipate the decree, and before the time specified, will endeavor to take their lives. But none can pass the mighty guardians stationed about every faithful soul. Some are assailed in their FLIGHT from the cities and villages; but the swords raised against them break and fall powerless as a straw. Others are defended by angels in the form of men of war.”(Great Controversy, p631)
“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake THOSE DAYS SHALL BE SHORTENED.”Matt 24:22
“Yet to human sight it will appear that the people of God must soon seal their testimony with their blood as did the martyrs before them… Yet for the elect’s sake the TIME OF TROUBLE will be SHORTENED.” (Great Controversy 631)
The time of trouble is mentioned in Matthew 24 and the three angels message are mentioned in Matthew 24. We will look at that shortly and also more closely examine the “abomination of desolation”(Matt 24:14-16).
The crying of the saints leads to deliverance; this ends the time of trouble.
“A DECREE went forth TO SLAY the saints, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance. This was the time of JACOB’S TROUBLE. Then all the saints cried out with anguish of spirit, and were DELIVERED by the VOICE OF GOD.”(Early Writings 36-37)
So again a time line of the final events in the time of trouble:
1. Probation closes
2. Plagues enrage wicked (EW 36-37)
- A DECREE went forth to SLAY THE SAINTS, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance.” (Early Writings 36-37)
- Satan hears the unceasing cry(LDE 164-165)
- Satan impersonates Christ as his “crowning act” to try and make them think their prayers are answered(164-165, GC 623-23)
- When saints cry out they are delivered by the voice of God.
What is the abomination of Desolation? Is that the Sunday Law or the death decree?
“As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation [U.S.A.] in the DECREE enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains.” GC 464-465.
According to Mark something is standing where it ought not, while Matthew adds that this thing is in the holy place. And Luke tells us that the holy city will be surrounded by armies.
Let’s compare Matthew and Daniel. Matthew said:
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
“As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of OUR NATION in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a WARNING to us. It will then be time to leave the LARGE cities, PREPARATORY to leaving the SMALLER ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains.” (5T pg 464-465)
This quote tells us that when the Sunday laws are enacted, it is time to leave the larger cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones and then into the mountains. The Sunday law is not the “Abomination of desolation” since when the “abomination of desolation” takes place we are to flee to the mountains immediately not to even go into our houses and not to go to the smaller towns at this time.
In order for this to happen the church needs the state power to enforce its decree. Jerusalem is not a symbol of the United States, but is a symbol of the church. Another church, Babylon, which includes a mother and her harlots, goes to the Kings of the earth and acquires power to enforce the papal Sabbath. When they have us surrounded then we know that the time is come where we must escape to the mountains.
Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Luk 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
So he establishes his kingdom by a church and state union. And then we see the armies surrounding the cities and that this abomination is surrounding the cities and ready to enforce State decrees. Now they want to surround those who are standing for truth and cut off all earthly means to them.
Going back to the days of the Jews, there was no salvation to anyone who stayed in the city when the abomination of desolation was set up.
“Jesus declared to the listening disciples the judgments that were to fall upon apostate Israel, and especially the retributive vengeance that would come upon them for their rejection and crucifixion of the Messiah. Unmistakable signs would precede the awful climax. The dreaded hour would come suddenly and swiftly. And the Saviour warned His followers: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.” Matthew 24:15, 16; Luke 21:20, 21. When the idolatrous standards of the Romans should be set up in the holy ground, which extended some furlongs outside the city walls, then the followers of Christ were to find safety in flight. When the warning sign should be seen, those who would escape must make no delay. Throughout the land of Judea, as well as in Jerusalem itself, the signal for flight must be immediately obeyed. He who chanced to be upon the housetop must not go down into his house, even to save his most valued treasures. Those who were working in the fields or vineyards must not take time to return for the outer garment laid aside while they should be toiling in the heat of the day. They must not hesitate a moment, lest they be involved in the general destruction.” {GC 25-26}
The idolatrous standards of the Romans were to be set up in the holy ground. This is what makes the churches desolate. This is to be setup in our own churches. What is going to happen is that the United States will set up and force its decrees in the churches. This may be them coming into our cities and homes to tell us how to worship. The decree will be in place, we will see them getting ready to come into the cities. Then we are to flee.
Many abominations are written in Ezekiel chapter 8. These are all being setup in the church right now. These idolatrous standards are to be set up in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. These abominations in Ezekiel 8 will be analyzed in a further study. Let’s look at a Ezekiel 9 first.
“ Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all
Jerusalem symbolizes “the church”. The abominations of Ezekiel 8 are going to be setup in the church.
“Mark this point with care: Those who receive the pure mark of truth, wrought in them by the power of the Holy Ghost, represented by a mark by the man in linen, are those “that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done” in the church.”(Maranatha Chapter 232)
The church is going to acquire state power to do away with what it deems to be heretics. This has already occurred. Then afterwards the world shall hate the whore and turn on her and burn her with fire.
Rev 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Rev 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
If the abomination that makes desolate is the Sunday Law then who is going to proclaim the Loud Cry?
What did our pioneers believe about the “abomination that maketh desolate”
“And what the abomination of desolation was He makes plain by saying, “When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, …” Luke 21 : 20, 21. The armies that compassed, destroyed, and desolated, Jerusalem were the armies of Rome. This therefore makes it certain that Rome was then the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet. And that Rome being continued and intensified in the papacy, this makes it certain that in the papacy there is continued and intensified “the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet.” (A T JONES (1850-1923) Lessons from the Reformation pg 258)
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand.)” In this we have a proof of what Daniel means by his “little horn,” which rose up out of one of the four winds of heaven, towards which the Grecian kingdom was divided; Dan.viii.8-13. It evidently means the Romans and their armies making desolate Jerusalem. Compare Luke xxi.20: “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.”(W MILLER (1782-1849)Millers Works, Exposition of the Twenty Fourth of Matthew, Lecture 1, pg 16)
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place … In this language our Lord brings to view the dreadful calamities of the Jewish people, and the destruction of their city and temple as predicted by the Daniel the prophet; and his watchful care over his people as their Lord leads him to point out their means of escape. He gives them a token by which they should know when this terrible overthrow was immediately impending. It was “the abomination of desolation” standing “in the holy place;” or, as expressed by Luke, the token was “Jerusalem compassed with armies.” (J N ANDREWS (1829-1883)
History of the Sabbath and the First Day of the Week, pg 132)
“The “abomination of desolation” is called “armies” in Luke 21:20, and refers to the Roman army. “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.” This desolating power is spoken of by Daniel as follows: “And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. . . . And for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Margin, “desolator.” Dan.9:26,27.”(J S WHITE (1821-1881)The Second Coming of Christ, or a Brief Exposition of Matthew 24, pg 28)
Now let’s analyze the events of Jerusalem and see whether any comparison could be made to today’s General Conference Church.
“Virtually Caiaphas was no high priest. He wore the priestly robes, but he had no vital connection with God. He was uncircumcised in heart. With the other priests he instructed the people to choose Barabbas instead of Christ. They cried out for the crucifixion of Christ and, as representatives of the Jewish nation, placed themselves under the Roman jurisdiction, which they despised, by saying, “We have no king but Caesar.” When they said this, they unchurched themselves. [Manuscript Releases Volume Twelve, page 388, paragraph 1]
- They crucified Christ
- Said we have no King but Caesar(Rome)
- When they said this they unchurched themselves.
- Years later the Roman Army that they had previously united with to crucify Christ setup their army within the borders of the church and destroyed and burned the whore.
- Many were quoting the promises about how the church could never fall while watching it burn to the ground.
Today the General Conference has trademarked the name Seventh Day Adventist. Currently there are ongoing Court cases where they are using state power to confiscate homes, churches and put people in jail. When we take people to Court we “crucify Christ afresh”.
“The world and unconverted church members are in sympathy. Some when God reproves them for wanting their own way, make the world their confidence, and bring church matters before the world for decision. Then there is collision and strife, and Christ is crucified afresh, and put to open shame. Those church members who appeal to the courts of the world show that they have chosen the world as their judge, and their names are registered in heaven as one with unbelievers. How eagerly the world seizes the statements of those who betray sacred trusts!” [Selected Messages Book 3, page 302, paragraph 3 ]
So with this trademark issue they have crucified Christ afresh. Have they chose Caesar as their King?
Excerpt from the article “General Conference trademark policy”
“Questions have been asked regarding efforts by the General Conference to protect the name of our church through the use of the trademark laws . . .
Q:Is it true that the General Conference has federally registered trademarks for the name ‘Seventh-day Adventist’…?
A:Yes. The General Conference Corporation of Seventh-day Adventists, on behalf of the ENTIRE DENOMINATION, has registered under the United States trademark laws the name ‘Seventh-day Adventist’ and a variety of the church’s programs and services…” Ministry Magazine, December, 1988
Notice that according to the above quote, when the Jews unchurched themselves they did it on behalf of the entire nation. Here we have the General Conference leaders saying on behalf of the entire denomination “We choose the world as our judge” or “We have no King but Caesar. You are corporately accountable for their sins. Would this not cumulate fornication with the Kings of the earth? Indeed, the call is to “Come out of her my people”.
“God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20). Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ’s church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church” (The Upward Look, p. 315).
“What we want now is a reorganization. We want to begin at the foundation and to build upon a different principle.” [Last Day Events, page 53]
Concluding, one would have to agree that the General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists meets the following criteria:
- Christ Crucified afresh
- No King but Caesar(USA) (Fornication with the Kings of the earth Rev 18:2,3)
- Unchurched themselves (Come out of her my people Rev 18:4) Loud Cry
- And within this generation we will see the Roman(USA) army standing in the midst of the General Conference church with full control of the ordinances performed therein. When we see them surrounding the cities we are to flee to the wilderness.
- Many will be quoting the promises about how the church could never fall while watching it burn to the ground.
Let’s remember what John said about Abraham’s seed. God is able to raise stones to be Seventh Day Adventists. He doesn’t need to use the national establishment.
“As the decree issued by the various rulers of Christendom against commandment keepers shall withdraw the protection of government and abandon them to those who desire their destruction, the people of God will flee from the cities and villages and associate together in companies, dwelling in the most desolate and solitary places. Many will find refuge in the strongholds of the mountains. Like the Christians of the Piedmont valleys, they will make the high places of the earth their sanctuaries and will thank God for “the munitions of rocks.” Isaiah 33:16. But many of all nations and of all classes, high and low, rich and poor, black and white, will be cast into the most unjust and cruel bondage. The beloved of God pass weary days, bound in chains, shut in by prison bars, sentenced to be slain, some apparently left to die of starvation in dark and loathsome dungeons. No human ear is open to hear their moans; no human hand is ready to lend them help.”(GC 626)
Many will be captured during this time. Many will flee to the mountains and other desolate and solitary places. God will hear them and remember them.
What does Matthew say is the order of events?
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
So first we have the gospel work of the three angels’ message.
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Finally we see an abomination so bad that the churches are left desolate; this is in reference to the surrounding of the cities by armies.
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Mat 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
We are to flee without delay when we recognize it immediately. This is all during the time of trouble.
The time of trouble:
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And finally there is the impersonation of Christ during this “time of trouble/great tribulation.”
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
As Matthew said there will be personating of Christ during the Time of Trouble. Regarding these verses from the chapter in the “Great Controversy” we read:
“As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ…Satan is not permitted to counterfeit the manner of Christ’s advent. The Saviour has warned His people against deception upon this point, and has clearly foretold the manner of His second coming. “There shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. . . . Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not forth; behold, He is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:24-27, 31; 25:31; Revelation 1:7; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17. This coming there is no possibility of counterfeiting. It will be universally known–witnessed by the whole world. {GC 624-625}
These verses refer to the time of trouble and the impersonation of Christ by Satan.
Luk 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luk 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luk 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
This event is applies to the destruction of Jerusalem as well as the end of the world.
Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and whatshall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
The destruction is worldwide…
“He sees that as she was given up to destruction, the world will be given up to its doom. The scenes that transpired at the destruction of Jerusalem will be repeated at the great and terrible day of the Lord, but in a more fearful manner. . .”(1SM3 417)
“A world is represented in the destruction of Jerusalem, and the warning given then by Christ comes sounding down the line to our time: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25). Yes, they shall pass their borders, and destruction will be in their track. They will engulf the ships that sail upon their broad waters, and with the burden of their living freight, they will be hurried into eternity, without time to repent.
There will be calamities by land and by sea, “men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory” (verses 26, 27). In just the same manner as He ascended will He come the second time to our world. “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (verse 28).”(-Manuscript 40, 1897.)
The order of events at the end of the world laid out in Matthew 24:
BIBLE VERSE | SECOND APPLICATION |
MATTHEW 24:14 | CLOSE OF PROBATION |
MATTHEW 24:15 | ARMIES SURROUND SAINTS – DEATH DECREE |
MATTHEW 24:21 | TIME OF TROUBLE |
MATTHEW 24:23, 24 | SATAN PERSONATES CHRIST |
MATTHEW 24:31 | THE SECOND COMING |
Many don’t understand why Satan desperately tries to impersonate Christ and deceive the saints when there is no way he can do it. To these I ask why is it that Satan would try to deceive the multitudes and conquer the Holy City when fire is going to come down from heaven and destroy them all? Satan believes he can. That’s why he attempts it.
Both of Satan’s acts of impersonation of Christ and the conquest of the Holy City are done in desperation.
What is the conference currently teaching on this matter?
“The false christ and the global strife are pulverizing the world…Gods true followers are brought before world leaders where they give powerful and eloquent biblical reasons for their opposition to the false system of worship being urge upon the masses…In the compelling biblical argument of God’s servants, thousands around the world will turn from their lifeless church’s and take up their stand with the unpopular but true followers of Jesus… (Doug Batchelor from the video Final Events of Bible Prophecy.)
That after the personation of Christ thousands will repent. This will be a great deception to the multitudes of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
